I’ve never been prouder that I didn’t attend an Ivy League school…
On Tuesday, the presidents of Harvard, Penn and MIT were each asked the following question under oath during congressional testimony: “Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct regarding bullying or harassment?”
Listeners were shocked to hear that not one of them answered “yes.”
To fully appreciate the moral bankruptcy of our woke universities, take out the word “Jews” in the question above and substitute “Black people”… or “gay people”… or “trans people.”
These are the same institutions where misgendering someone is considered a fireable offense.
But calling for the complete eradication of the Jews? Well, that depends on the context.
Sadly, the ideals that define us as a nation – life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness – are under attack in the media, in Hollywood and even from government itself.
Yet much of the problem originates in academia.
On today’s campuses, facts have been replaced with feelings.
Debate has been replaced by deplatforming.
Diversity of thought has been replaced by homogeneity of thought.
Persuasion has been replaced by public shaming.
Education has been replaced by indoctrination.
Many of our schools of higher learning are actively undermining the foundational principles that lead to peace, harmony and prosperity.
Polls show that most Americans are profoundly disturbed about this. Yet most shrug their shoulders and say, “What can I do about it?”
The answer? A lot.
For starters, you can give – as I do – to a nonprofit that excels in promoting liberty, open inquiry and free markets.
And if you do so this month, you can save many thousands of dollars in taxes – twice – on your 2023 tax return.
Here’s how…
Students For Liberty is a global movement of young individuals committed to promoting the ideas of liberty, free markets and limited government.
It firmly believes that a society that respects individual rights and fosters economic and personal freedom leads to prosperity, innovation and the overall well-being of its citizens.
Its chapters are aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of these principles among students on campus and within the broader community.
Through seminars, workshops, guest lectures and community outreach programs, the folks at Students For Liberty empower young minds to think critically, engage in constructive discussions and develop a strong foundation of knowledge about the principles that shape our world for the better.
To continue its impactful work, the organization relies on the support of generous individuals who share its vision for a freer and more prosperous future.
Your contribution can make a significant difference in amplifying its efforts and reaching a broader audience.
Here are just a few ways your support will have a lasting impact:
- Educational initiatives: Your donation will help Students For Liberty organize informative seminars and workshops that equip students with the tools to articulate and defend the principles of liberty in their academic and personal lives.
- Speaker series: With your support, it can invite renowned speakers and experts to campus, providing students with unique perspectives and insights on topics related to economics, individual rights and freedom. Each year, Students For Liberty organizes over 2,000 events with more than 150,000 attendees.
- Community outreach: The organization aims to extend its influence beyond the campus through community events and partnerships. Your contribution enables it to engage with a wider audience and promote the values of liberty.
- Thoughtful engagement: Students For Liberty funds a YouTube channel – The Invisible Lens – that explores the political ideas expressed in movies, sports and music. It has already generated more than 3 million views in a matter of months.
- Alumni network: Students For Liberty supports an alumni network of more than 10,000 free market advocates who now work in government, journalism, academia and think tanks.
A donation to Students For Liberty reflects your dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders and thinkers, the people who will shape the future.
You become an integral part of a movement that is creating lasting change and fostering a society rooted in liberty and individual rights.
I’m proud to give my own time and money to Students For Liberty. And I invite you to join me.
While cash donations are always welcome, let me suggest an even smarter way for investors to give.
Your contribution to Students For Liberty is, of course, fully tax-deductible.
But if you donate a stock, bond or fund where you have an unrealized gain, you will also avoid the capital gains tax on the investment.
Consider it a win-win-win.
You are contributing to a worthy cause that promotes your most important values (win No. 1).
You are avoiding a capital gains tax (win No. 2).
And you are making a tax-deductible contribution (win No. 3).
