At the 21st Annual Investment U Conference this past weekend, special guest and keynote speaker Os Guinness – English author, social critic and great-great-great-grandson of the storied brewer – had a stark message for attendees.
“We’re at a Rubicon moment,” he said.
In other words, America’s cultural integrity – the foundation and preservation of our freedom – is at the point of no return.
Os was not specifically referring to financial freedom… but he might as well have been.
By ignoring our values, customs and those that threaten us, he said, freedom – as we’ve come to know it – cannot stand the test of time…
Including the freedom of capitalism.
Our mission at The Oxford Club and Liberty Through Wealth is less about helping Members to merely “get rich”…
And more about helping them to live a truly rich life…
For example, one conference attendee had been a Chairman’s Circle Member with her husband for years. Her point of no return was when her husband passed away and she had to assume responsibility for the family finances.
What did she do? She continued attending the Investment U Conference annually to expand her financial literacy and get new ideas. She became financially self-sufficient, in large part by following Chief Investment Strategist Alexander Green’s advice. And she used her earnings to pay off her son’s mortgage, erase her grandchildren’s student debt and donate to charity.
In fact, she was attending this year’s conference with her daughter and grandson, both of whom she was teaching about investing so they could pay it forward to future generations.
Another Member and avid follower of Alex’s advice made $1.2 million from a single stock recommendation made in The Oxford Communiqué years ago.
Today, Sal C. has created portfolios mirroring his own for each of his children and grandchildren. Anytime he buys or sells a stock, he makes the same move in each portfolio. For him, these investments ensure his children and grandchildren will be “set for life.”
These inspiring stories raise the question… what is your Rubicon moment?
What will get you off the sidelines and convince you to act? What is really driving you to create wealth, to get to the next level of financial abundance?
That was the question Chief Growth Officer Nathan Hurd posed to attendees right after Os’ thought-provoking and ovation-inducing keynote.
If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it here a thousand times…
Money may not buy happiness, but it sure steamrolls a whole lot of problems.
Overcoming money worries allows you to get on with your life and focus on the people and activities you love.
Money allows you to help family and friends, support worthy causes, and spend your life the way you choose.
Which is why ETF Strategist Nicholas Vardy focused his sessions at the Investment U Conference entirely on fast-tracking the wealth-building process with exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Nicholas thinks of ETFs as the Legos of the investment world. “Like Legos, ETFs come in all sorts of colors, shapes and sizes,” he says. “They offer an astonishing range of asset classes, investment philosophies and niche trading strategies.”
Today, ETFs are again revolutionizing investing. Specifically “smart beta” ETFs, which track indexes that invest in stocks based on factors other than market capitalization, like value, momentum or insider buying.
No one factor will beat the S&P 500 at all times, in every bull or bear cycle. But where one strategy falls short, another picks up the slack.
That’s why Nicholas has created a “portfolio of strategies” for his Oxford Wealth Accelerator trading service. By doing so, he’s effectively built safeguards to guarantee you will beat the market by at least 1% to 2% annually.
On the face of it, that may not sound like a lot. But thanks to the miracle of compound interest, over time your wealth will not just multiply but shoot up exponentially. (If I were to draw a chart, it would look like a hockey stick lying on its side.)
Nicholas also shared that he has even bigger plans for the already value-packed service.
In fact, even though it’s already one of the few trading services with two sizable portfolios, Nicholas is contemplating adding a third income-based one.
With a faster-paced tactical portfolio that recommends slightly riskier plays in leveraged and inverse ETFs, the smart beta portfolio of strategies and potentially a third income-generating portfolio, Oxford Wealth Accelerator will undoubtedly continue to deliver on the promise of its name.
Although this year’s Investment U Conference has now come and gone, the need for investing knowledge and experience never ends.
As Alex so eloquently put it during his closing remarks, after Day One at the conference, attendees are on information overload. By Day Three, they’re in an information tsunami.
It may feel the same for you… with all the information you get on a daily basis from us and others across the internet.
The key is to not get overwhelmed. To organize. Make a game plan. And most importantly, put that plan into action…
Because action is the way we protect our freedom. Always has been, always will be.
Good investing,
Donna
